Biography
Lukas Schubert is a Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 8 . Born on July 20, 2005, he was elected in 2024 at age 19, defeating incumbent Tony Brockman in the Republican primary and Democrat Beth Sibert in the general election with 70-71% of the vote. A self-described Christian conservative and Catholic, he owns a small startup business and advocates for property tax cuts, election security, judicial transparency, Second Amendment rights, immigration restrictions, limiting abortion and transgender healthcare access, and reviving the logging industry.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Glacier High School in 2023 and currently studies at Flathead Valley Community College .
- Political Experience: Involved in Republican grassroots efforts in Flathead County; serves as Secretary of the Flathead County Republican Central Committee and on the county Transportation Advisory Committee. Elected to the Montana House in 2024; in his first session , sponsored HB752, which creates a civil action framework for victims of child sexual abuse against content providers, effective October 1, 2025. Prioritizes partisan judicial elections, impeaching certain judges, barring most non-U.S. citizens from property ownership, and opposing Medicaid expansion.
