Biography
Lucy M. Boyden is a Democrat representing Lamoille-3 in the Vermont House of Representatives, which includes Cambridge, Jeffersonville, and Waterville. A fifth-generation member of the Boyden family farm in Cambridge , she was born in Burlington, Vermont, grew up around horses working as a stable hand on local farms, and currently resides in Cambridge as a content marketer. She enjoys gardening, biking, skiing, and baking. Notable as one of the youngest U.S. state legislators, she serves on the House Committee on Government Operations and Military Affairs and the Canvassing Committee, and is a member of the Future Caucus and Rural Caucus, focusing on flood recovery and rural issues.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Cambridge elementary school; graduated from Lamoille Union High School ; earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing summa cum laude from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.
- Political Experience: Passion for politics began as a middle school legislative page; later interned with the Agriculture and Forestry Committee. Elected in 2022 , took office January 4, 2023; serving 2023–present .
