Biography

Lou Terhar is a Republican politician and retired U.S. Navy Commander who has served in both the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate, acting as Committee Chairman in each chamber. He previously held executive roles as a three-time President and CEO of major companies, including The David J. Joseph Company , Indian Motorcycle Corporation, and Integris Metals . Terhar is married to Debe with four children, and he remains active in community service as a board member for organizations like the USO of Central & Southern Ohio, Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Altiora Fund.

Education

Terhar graduated from Elder High School, earned a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1972, an MBA in finance from Syracuse University, and a Master of Liberal Arts from Harvard University. He has taught graduate-level courses in Theory of Strategy and Experiential Strategy at Xavier University and Mount Saint Joseph University, earning recognition as Executive MBA Professor of the Year four times at Xavier and Adjunct Professor of the Year in 2018 at Mount St. Joseph.
