Biography

Lorie Ball

Lorie Ball is an American politician and Republican member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing the Rockingham 25th district. She resides in Salem, New Hampshire, with her family of four.

Throughout her community involvement, Ball has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and civic service. She has served as a Girl Scout leader, team mom, and school volunteer. She also held leadership positions including President of a large homeowner's association and Chairperson of a Charity Ball Committee, which raised $25,000 for the reconstruction of a historic barn that now serves as the Hollis Community Center. Additionally, she has volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the New Hampshire Court system.

Education and Background

Ball holds a Master of Education in Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities from Rivier University. Prior to her political career, she worked in the banking industry and as a paraprofessional.

Political Experience

Ball first ran for the Salem School Board in March 2022, inspired by state-wide low proficiency scores in reading, math, and science. Though she received 1,640 votes, she fell short by 74 votes against a twenty-one-year incumbent. She subsequently decided to pursue a position in the state legislature.

Elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2022, Ball has focused her legislative efforts on education initiatives. During her freshman session, she co-sponsored several significant education bills, including HB170 and HB377 —both of which were signed into law by Governor Sununu. She also co-sponsored HB437, addressing reading assessment and intervention programs, which remains under committee review.
