Biography

Lori M. Stone is a Democratic politician and former teacher currently serving as the mayor of Warren, Michigan. She previously represented Michigan House District 13 , covering parts of Warren and Center Line in Macomb County. A lifelong Warren resident and third-generation educator, she taught elementary school for 14 years, including at Mound Park Elementary. Notable achievements include sponsoring 25 bills as a state representative, serving as a pledged delegate for Joe Biden at the 2020 Michigan Democratic presidential primary, and focusing on public education, family support, infrastructure, and auto insurance reform. She is single and active in community groups like the Warren Center Line Prevention Coalition, Warren Symphony Society, Michigan Education Association, and American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Education

Stone graduated from Fitzgerald Public Schools and the Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center. She earned bachelor's degrees from Michigan State University in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and Elementary Education , plus a master's degree in Science Education . She was a 2017 fellow with the Michigan Political Leadership Program.

Stone served three sessions in the Michigan House of Representatives as a Democrat from District 28 .
