Biography

Lori McCann is a Republican representative for Idaho House District 6A in Nez Perce County. She was appointed by Governor Brad Little on May 17, 2021, to succeed Aaron von Ehlinger and has served since then as a wife, mother of four, and grandmother of 11. A lifelong resident of the area for over 50 years, she has a diverse background in education, business, agriculture, and community service, including managing her family's law practice, cattle ranch, timber operations, and rental properties alongside her husband.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduated from Lewiston High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Idaho; pursued a master's degree.
  • Professional Experience: Served over 15 years as program coordinator and professor in Paralegal and Legal Assisting programs at Lewis-Clark State College.
  • Political Experience: Current Idaho House Representative for District 6A ; secretary and precinct captain of the Nez Perce County Republican Central Committee.
  • Notable Positions and Achievements: Past Tammany School Board member and president of the Idaho Association for Legal Professionals; current president of the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation Board, board member of the Idaho Community Foundation and Idaho Business for Education, and member of the University of Idaho Extension Office Advisory Board.
