Biography

Lon Pishny is a Republican representing Kansas House District 122 since 2024. A longtime resident of western Kansas since 1967, he is a small business owner and former Finney County Commissioner. District 122 covers all of Hodgeman and Kearny counties, western Pawnee County , two townships in Edwards County, and rural Finney County . Notable positions include service on the FHSU Foundation board, Kansas Public Employee Retirement System, State Broadband Task Force, Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission, and Workforce Investment Board. He currently serves on the House Committee on Water and House Committee on Local Government. In his 2024 campaign, he emphasized Biblical principles in governance, pro-life views from conception, and support for expanded welfare for the disabled and elderly; he won unopposed.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Earned Certified Financial Planner status from the College for Financial Planning in 1988; graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991.
