Biography
Lisa Parshley is a Democratic member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing the 22nd Legislative District, Position 2. A veterinary oncologist and small business owner, she assumed office on January 13, 2025, succeeding Jessica Bateman. Her full name is Dorothy Elizabeth Parshley, and she resides in Olympia, Washington.
Education and Political Experience
Parshley's professional background includes work as a veterinary oncologist. Prior to the state House, she served on the Olympia City Council, representing Position 5 from January 1, 2018, to 2024 after being elected in 2017. She chaired the Finance Committee, Thurston County Human Rights Commission, and the LOTT wastewater board of directors.
Notable Achievements and Positions
- Extended Olympia's sanctuary city status to include reproductive rights and health care, making it the first city in Washington to do so.
- Voted to extend the city's camping ban.
