Biography
Representative Lisa Fragala
Lisa Fragala is a Democratic state representative serving House District 8 in the Oregon House of Representatives, which encompasses central and south Eugene, from the Willamette River to Spencer Butte, plus part of the Crow-Applegate-Lorane Valley in Lane County.
Lisa has been a Eugene resident for over 30 years and lives there with her husband, Tibor Bessko. She has worked as an elementary teacher for 25 years in local schools and currently serves as a Community Partnership Coordinator at Pacific University College of Education.
She was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in November 2024, winning her first election with 97.4% of the vote. She brings a deep commitment to addressing affordability and the cost of living, issues she identifies as critical for working families across Oregon.
Education
Lisa holds a Master of Education from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sciences from Binghamton University.
Political Experience
Local Government Service
Before entering the state legislature, Lisa served on the Lane Community College Board of Directors from 2018 to 2024, including serving as chair for two years during the COVID pandemic. She was also appointed to the City of Eugene Planning Commission in 2017 and served until beginning her state legislative role in 2025, where she focused on identifying housing solutions for the community.
