Biography
Lisa Durnell
Lisa Durnell is a Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives representing District 154 , having assumed office on January 8, 2025. She is a life-long south-central Missouri resident and resides in Willow Springs, Missouri.
Durnell is a fourth-generation farmer who operates a small beef cow farm with her husband, Dean. Beyond farming, she has worked as a residential appraiser and as a certified right-of-way specialist for the Missouri Department of Transportation . She currently holds a part-time position at the Howell County Collector's office.
Her community involvement includes significant leadership contributions. In 2010, she helped organize a community effort to establish a high school softball program at Willow Springs High School, earning the Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award. She is an active member of CrossWay Fellowship Church of Willow Springs, where she serves as a greeter and leads the praise and worship team.
Education
Durnell holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from the University of Missouri. She attended Mountain View schools before pursuing higher education.
Political Experience
Prior to her legislative service, Durnell demonstrated leadership through various civic roles. She served as secretary and chairperson of the Howell-Oregon Electric nominating committee and as chairperson of MoDOT's Employee Advisory Committee. She also participated in youth leadership organizations, including 4-H and FFA. Following her election in 2024, she became an active member of the Howell County chapter of the United Federation of Republican Women.
