Lisa Demuth is a Republican representing District 13A in the Minnesota House of Representatives, serving Stearns County from her home in Cold Spring. She is a small business owner, married to Nick with four adult children and six grandchildren, and a lifelong Minnesota resident. Notable achievements include being the first female Republican and first Black Speaker of the Minnesota House, as well as the first biracial House Minority Leader; she was elected House Minority Leader in November 2022 after serving as Assistant Minority Leader. She announced her intention to run for Governor in the 2026 election and is a 2021 graduate of CSG Midwest’s Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership.

• Political Experience: Elected to the Minnesota House in 2018 ; re-elected for House 2019-2022 and 2023-present , currently in her 4th term as Speaker. Previously served 11 years on the ROCORI School District school board, first elected as a write-in candidate; small business owner prior to higher office.
