Lisa Callan is a Democratic representative in the Washington State House of Representatives, serving District 5, Position 2, which includes Snoqualmie, North Bend, Issaquah, Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Enumclaw, Fall City, Carnation, and parts of Sammamish and unincorporated King County.

Elected in 2018 and taking office in 2019, she advocates for families, schools, youth, and community investment. Notable achievements include vice chair of the House Capital Budget Committee, directing investments in construction and infrastructure; co-chair of the Children & Youth Behavioral Health Work Group, advancing policies on mental health, substance use, suicide prevention, workforce development, and behavioral healthcare; and service on committees like Children, Youth & Families, Appropriations, Education, and the Joint Select Committee on Health Care and Behavioral Health Oversight.

She has received awards such as Champion for Children , Behavioral Health Champion , Legislative Champion , and others recognizing her work in housing, mental health, and education.

Education and Political Experience

Prior to her election, Callan served as a school board director in the Issaquah School District, worked as a Boeing engineer and project manager, and consulted in software development.

Her political roles include prior membership on the House Human Services & Early Learning Committee , Early Learning Advisory Council , Office of Homeless Youth Advisory Committee , and NCSL Health & Human Services Committee and Early Learning Fellows Program .
