Lindsay Gilchrist is a Democratic representative for Colorado House District 8, which covers parts of Denver County, including the Park Hill neighborhood where she lives with her wife and three children. She assumed office on January 8, 2025. Born and raised in Denver, she attended East High School and maintains deep ties to the community, with her family attending the same local schools across generations. Notable achievements include her prior work in Congress with Senator Ted Kennedy on key legislation such as the Iraqi Refugee Bill, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, and healthcare reform; advising the House Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health on global health and security issues; and founding Gilchrist & Company in 2012 to advocate for public policy improvements with nonprofits, foundations, and policymakers. She currently chairs the House Committee on Health and Human Services and has sponsored bills to improve access to mental health services. Gilchrist also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for youth in foster care.

• Political Experience: Began career in Senator Ted Kennedy’s office as a Special Assistant, then served as Professional Staff Member for the U.S. House Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health, contributing to the Conflict Minerals Bill and Congressional Sudan Caucus. Worked as Senior Advocacy Officer for mothers2mothers , an international nonprofit focused on preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission. Founded Gilchrist & Company in 2012 for policy advocacy. Elected to Colorado House of Representatives in 2024 for District 8 .
