Biography

Lindsay Gilchrist is a Democratic representative for Colorado House District 8, which covers parts of Denver County, including the Park Hill neighborhood where she lives with her wife and three children. She assumed office on January 8, 2025. Born and raised in Denver, she attended East High School and maintains deep ties to the community, with her family attending the same local schools across generations. Notable achievements include her prior work in Congress with Senator Ted Kennedy on key legislation such as the Iraqi Refugee Bill, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, and healthcare reform; advising the House Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health on global health and security issues; and founding Gilchrist & Company in 2012 to advocate for public policy improvements with nonprofits, foundations, and policymakers. She currently chairs the House Committee on Health and Human Services and has sponsored bills to improve access to mental health services. Gilchrist also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for youth in foster care.
