Biography
Linda Eileen Ichiyama Chong is a Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing House District 32 , which includes areas such as Moanalua, Salt Lake, Aliamanu, Fort Shafter Flats, and Pearl Harbor. Elected in 2010 after defeating three candidates in the Democratic primary, she has served continuously, facing minimal opposition in subsequent elections and defeating Nancy A. Valdez in 2024. She currently holds the position of Vice Speaker of the House, selected in 2024, and serves as Vice-Chair of the House Consumer Protection committee. Notable achievements include being a founding member of the Hawaii Women’s Legislative Caucus, serving on key committees , and co-chairing a special committee addressing contamination from the Red Hill Underground Fuel Storage Facility in her district.
