Biography
Linda Coleman-Madison is a Democratic state senator representing District 20 in the Alabama Senate, a position she has held since November 2006. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she is a longtime public servant with a career spanning education, local government, and state legislature, including prior service on the Birmingham City Council and in the Alabama House of Representatives . Notable achievements include her role as Minority Caucus Vice Chair since 2018, leadership in disability rights legislation such as service animal definitions, and committee positions like Ranking Minority Member on Finance and Taxation General Fund, County and Municipal Government, and State Government Affairs. She has also served as regional vice president of the National Foundation for Women Legislators and received the Top 50 Over 50 Award from Positive Maturity in 2019.
