Biography

Lily Qi is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 15 in Montgomery County. She is Maryland's first Chinese-born state legislator, elected in 2018 after mobilizing the local Chinese-American community via WeChat and receiving endorsements from Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett and the Maryland Sierra Club. Notable achievements include being named to Daily Record's Maryland's Top 100 Women and Power 30 Manufacturing ; she served as a delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention pledged to Kamala Harris and chairs the Work Group to Study the Transformation of Manufacturing in Maryland's Emerging Digital Economy . Qi became a U.S. citizen in 1999, is married, and has one child.
