Biography
Leticia Castillo is a Republican Assemblymember representing California's 58th Assembly District, which includes cities such as Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Riverside, and Grand Terrace in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Elected in November 2024 after narrowly defeating Clarissa Cervantes in the state's closest legislative race, she serves as a public servant and community advocate born to legal immigrants from Mexico and raised in the unincorporated Home Gardens area of Riverside County for over five decades. At age 54, she is a clinical psychotherapist with a private practice, a Licensed Life Insurance Agent , and is pursuing a Real Estate License; she is the youngest of six siblings, a mother to one daughter, and grandmother to five grandchildren, guided by her Christian faith.
Education and Political Experience
Castillo previously worked for the Riverside County Department of Mental Health, aiding individuals with severe mental health challenges, before establishing her own private practice as a small business owner. This marks her first elected office; she lost a 2022 bid for the Assembly to Sabrina Cervantes but won in 2024.
