Biography
Leslie Goldman is a Democratic state representative for Vermont's Windham-3 district , serving since January 2021. A retired family nurse practitioner and community advocate, she moved to Bellows Falls, Vermont, in 1982 with her husband, Dr. Matthew Peake, to establish a primary care practice at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. They operated a private practice from 1986 until the hospital closed in 1990, after which she continued in primary care at Springfield Hospital until 2008 and later at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene. Goldman retired from medicine in 2018 after 37 years. Notable community roles include 12 years on the Bellows Falls Union High School Board, three years on the Rockingham Selectboard, board service at Parks Place , founding member of The Compass School , and current board member at The Nature Museum in Grafton. She serves on the House Committee on Health Care - Canvassing Committee and hosts "Legislators at the Library" events.
Education and Political Experience
Goldman earned a master's in public health from Dartmouth Medical School in 2008, focusing on systems thinking and quality improvement. Her political experience includes election to the Vermont House of Representatives in 2020, representing Windham-3 as a lifelong Democrat. She applies her expertise in medicine, public health, education, and local government to legislative work on health care access, costs, and community issues.
