Leonora Dodge is a Democratic representative for Chittenden-23 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving since 2023. Born to Irish and Mexican parents, she grew up in Montreal and Mexico City before moving to the United States as a young adult; she now lives in Essex town with her husband and two children, and is fluent in French and Spanish. A dedicated community builder since moving to Vermont in 2000, she has volunteered with organizations like HomeShare Vermont, Music Contact International, Justicia Migrante/Migrant Justice, and Essex B.E.S.T. . She shares Latinx culture through teaching inclusive dance fitness classes, raising funds for nonprofits such as COTS, SD Ireland Cancer Research, and Steps to End Domestic Violence, and has coordinated community events like Spanish playgroups, children's activities at the Burlington Latino Festival, Odyssey of the Mind coaching, and international potluck dinners in the Essex-Westford School District.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: B.A. in Latin American Studies from Williams College; M.A. in Latin American History from the University of Texas at Austin. She studied abroad in Chile, southern Spain, and Guatemala, and received a Mellon Fellowship, Ford grant, and Fulbright.
• Professional Experience: Taught Spanish at Vermont Commons High School and Champlain College; worked as a classroom paraeducator in the Spanish Immersion Elementary program in Jericho; nonprofit professional.
• Political Experience: Elected to the Vermont House in 2023 , serving on the House Transportation Committee. Notable work includes bipartisan efforts on public transit, walking/rolling accessibility, electric vehicle incentives, road safety, and adapting transportation budgets for extreme weather, technology changes, and federal funding.
