Biography
Lee Alyson Snodgrass is a Democratic politician representing Wisconsin's 52nd Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Assembly since 2025. A native of Philadelphia, she moved to Wisconsin at age 10 due to her father's career in the paper industry and grew up in Green Bay as the daughter of a paper mill engineer and a registered nurse. She has lived in Appleton since 1992, where she worked as a communications consultant, campaign organizer, and Director of Communications for the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes. Snodgrass is a parent to two adult children and advocates for female empowerment, environmental protection, LGBTQ+ rights, pollinator protections, climate mitigation, outdoor recreation, women's reproductive rights, paper industry jobs, small business development, and working families. Notable positions include chair of the LGBTQ legislative caucus, Sergeant at Arms in caucus leadership, ranking member on the Campaigns & Elections and Forestry, Parks & Outdoor Recreation committees, former 2nd vice chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, and former chair of the Democratic Party of Outagamie County.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Preble High School in Green Bay ; BA in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin–Madison .
- Political Experience: Elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2020, initially representing the 57th Assembly District before redistricting to the 52nd. Authored over 20 bills in her first term; currently a full-time legislator with part-time communications work.
