Lee Hewitt is a Republican representing District 108 in the South Carolina House of Representatives. A small business owner of Garden City Realty, he resides in Murrells Inlet with his wife Whitney and two sons, William and Coleman. He is an active member of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoys hunting and fishing.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Coastal Carolina University in 1982.
• Professional Background: Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Professional Mediator, and graduate of the Realtors Institute. Served as President of the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors and on the state Association of Realtors board.
• Local Government Service: Chaired the Georgetown Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals; served on the Georgetown County Comprehensive Land Use Plan Committee, Grand Strand Area Transportation Committee, and Southern Evacuation Lifeline Road Task Force. Appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley in 2014 to the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control Board.
• State Legislature Roles: Chief Majority Whip; serves on the Ways and Means Committee as chairman of the Healthcare Budget Subcommittee and on the Economic Development and Utility Modernization Ad Hoc Committee; chairs the Grand Strand Area Transportation Study Policy Committee .
• Notable Achievements: Awarded Legislator of the Year three times ; received the Friends of the USC School of Medicine award.
