Lawrence McClure
Lawrence McClure is a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives representing District 68 in Hillsborough County. Born on June 26, 1987, in Tampa, Florida, McClure is a business owner and Baptist. He resides in Dover, Florida, with his wife, Courtney, who is from Plant City.
McClure began his career as a summer intern at Tampa-based Streamline Environmental, where he worked on cleanup, mitigation, and petroleum tank removal. He rose to become a partner in the firm and later continued this work as a consultant, helping state and local leaders address environmental, water, and land-use issues.
Political Experience
McClure was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives on December 19, 2017, initially representing District 58 from 2018 to 2022. He has been reelected and currently represents District 68, having assumed office on November 8, 2022.
Throughout his legislative tenure, McClure has served on several significant committees. During the 2023-2024 term, he chaired the State Affairs Committee and served as Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee. Currently, he chairs the House Budget Committee and serves as alternating chair of the Joint Legislative Budget Commission.
