Biography

Laurie Osher is a Democratic state representative for House District 25 in Maine, representing the town of Orono in Penobscot County. Born on June 8, 1960, she was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2020 and has served three sessions . A soil scientist and community resilience consultant, Osher advocates for climate protection, school funding, LGBTQ+ rights, universal healthcare, workers' rights, tribal sovereignty, and services for adults with disabilities. Notable achievements include sponsoring LD 937 in 2021 to incentivize carbon storage in Maine soils and serving on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
