Biography
Laurie Bruce Hutchison Dolan is an American educator and Democratic politician who served as a member of the Washington House of Representatives for the 22nd Legislative District, representing parts of Thurston County including Olympia and Lacey. She was elected in 2017, succeeding Chris Reykdal, and served three terms before announcing in 2022 that she would not seek re-election and retired at the end of that year. Notable achievements include her 30-year career in Spokane Public Schools, rising from elementary teacher to executive director for special services and area director supervising principals; serving as policy director for Governor Christine Gregoire starting in 2005; and advocating for education improvements, children's issues, and public school funding. The Washington House honored her service with a special resolution upon retirement. She overcame multiple myeloma, a serious illness, twice.
Education and Political Experience

- Early Career: Began teaching first grade in Spokane in 1973; advanced to administrative roles in Spokane Public Schools, retiring in 2004.
