Biography

Lauren Davis is a Democratic member of the Washington State House of Representatives, representing the 32nd Legislative District , which includes Shoreline, Lynnwood, northwest Seattle, south Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, and Woodway. Born in 1986, she assumed office on January 14, 2019, and is serving her 7th term as of 2026. She lives in Seattle and focuses her legislative work on behavioral health treatment and recovery, criminal legal system reform, mental health, addiction recovery, strengthening schools, and affordable housing. Notable achievements include leading the passage of Ricky’s Law in 2016, creating an involuntary crisis commitment system for individuals with life-threatening addiction—one of the largest single investments in addiction treatment in Washington state history—and receiving the 2016 Hero Award from the Washington Council for Behavioral Health. She founded the Washington Recovery Alliance, serving as its first Executive Director and current Strategy Director, and helped launch the suicide prevention nonprofit Forefront, directing school-based mental health programs.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Earned a bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies from Brown University.
