Biography
Laura Telerski
Laura Damphousse Telerski is a Democratic politician from Nashua, New Hampshire. She is married and has three children. She resides at 5 Shakespeare Road in Nashua's Ward 8, the district she represents.
Education
Telerski holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgetown University and a Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago.
Political Experience
Telerski has served as a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives representing Hillsborough 11 since 2018. She currently holds the position of Deputy House Democratic Leader.
She serves on the House Finance Committee as the ranking member of Division III, which oversees budget portions related to the Department of Health and Human Services. During her first two terms, she was a member of the House Transportation Committee, serving as Clerk and Deputy Ranking Member.
Notable achievements include sponsoring legislation to remove fees for handicapped parking placards and working to close a loophole in the state's DUI statute. She has also championed policies supporting low-income families, including helping parents with summer grocery assistance and filing legislation to simplify enrollment in federal school meals programs.
Telerski previously served as a Selectman for Nashua Ward 8 and worked as an account executive before her political career. She also chaired the NH House Democratic Victory Campaign Committee, where she recruited and trained candidates to support a Democratic majority in the state legislature.
