Biography

Laura Sibilia is an Independent member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Windham-2 district, which includes the towns of Dover, Jamaica, Somerset, Stratton, and Wardsboro. She has served since 2014, initially representing Windham-Bennington until 2022. A long-time resident of southern Vermont for over 30 years, she lives in Dover with her husband TJ, where they raised three children; she is the eldest of 12 siblings. Her legislative priorities include telecom, energy, climate change, rural economic development, and education finance. Notable achievements include co-founding the Deerfield Valley Troop Support Group in 2002, leading economic recovery after Tropical Storm Irene and the Vermont Yankee closure, serving on Governor Phil Scott's 2016 transition team and Leadership Advisory Council, and earning Vermont League of Cities and Towns Legislator of the Year in 2022 and 2023, plus the Rodel Fellowship in 2024. She holds leadership roles such as Vice Chair of the House Environment and Energy Committee , member of the House Ethics Panel and Joint Information Technology Oversight Committee, and Co-Chair of the House Rural Economic Development Working Group.
