Larry Wainstein

Larry Wainstein is a lifelong Hudson County resident, small business owner, and community advocate. He is the son of Argentinian immigrants, Enrique and Maria, and was the first in his family to earn a college degree. Wainstein is fluent in Spanish and currently resides in North Bergen with his wife, Imelda, and their three children.
His early work in the community focused on addressing gaps in public services and promoting neighborhood revitalization in North Bergen. He previously served as *Chairman of his area's Urban Enterprise Zone *, a position centered on economic growth and community development.
Wainstein and his family established The Larry Wainstein Family Foundation, a charitable organization providing community programs, senior support services, advocacy for special needs families, and employment assistance.
Education
Wainstein attended Memorial High School in West New York, New Jersey. He worked his way through college and graduated from Saint Peter's University, becoming the first member of his family to earn a university degree.
Political Experience
Wainstein serves as an Assemblyman in the New Jersey State Legislature representing District 33. Prior to his legislative role, he was actively involved in local politics, running for North Bergen Mayor three times before transitioning to state assembly candidacy. His assembly campaign ran alongside incumbent Gabe Rodriguez in the 33rd District.
