Larry Kraft is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party . He has represented District 46A in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2023, covering St. Louis Park and parts of Hennepin County in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Currently in his second term, he serves as Assistant DFL Floor Leader, vice chair of the Energy Finance and Policy Committee, and on committees including State Government Finance and Policy, and Transportation Finance and Policy. Notable achievements include authoring 27 bills in his first term , passing 15 climate-related bills into law, and leading a coalition of 16 Minnesota cities to declare a climate emergency in 2022. He previously spent 25 years in the high-tech industry before shifting to climate advocacy, running a national nonprofit for youth climate policy, and serving on the St. Louis Park City Council.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: B.S. and M.B.A. from Cornell University.
  • Political Experience: Elected to the Minnesota House in 2022 after redistricting and the retirement of incumbent Ryan Winkler; re-elected for a second term. Prior roles include St. Louis Park City Council Member at Large, Environment & Sustainability Commissioner, Climate Action Plan Committee member, and steering committee for arts and culture strategic framework. He is married to Lauri with two children and lists his occupation as government.
