Biography
Larry Householder is an American former politician and convicted felon from Ohio, affiliated with the Republican Party. He represented Ohio's 72nd House District and served as Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives on two occasions: first elected in 2001 and again in 2019. Householder was convicted in 2023 of leading Ohio's largest bribery scandal, receiving a 20-year federal prison sentence for a racketeering conspiracy involving nearly $61 million in bribes to pass House Bill 6, a billion-dollar nuclear plant bailout.
Education and Political Experience

His political career included serving as a state representative and two-term Speaker, where he advanced conservative priorities such as concealed carry laws, tort reform, defunding Planned Parenthood , and the Defense of Marriage Act. A Perry County Republican known for his folksy style and influence as a power broker, he was term-limited out in 2004 before returning in 2018.
