Biography
La Keisha Jackson is a Democratic State Senator representing District 34 in the Indiana Senate, which includes the eastside of Indianapolis and portions of Lawrence, encompassing parts of Center, Washington, Lawrence, and Warren Townships. She was selected by precinct committee persons in April 2024 to fill the remaining term of the late Senator Jean Breaux and was sworn into office shortly thereafter; she was elected in 2024. As a notable position, she serves as Assistant Caucus Chair. Her occupation is Chief Executive Officer of the Pathway Resource Center, and she lives in Indianapolis.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
- Political Experience: Prior to the Senate, she served as an Indianapolis City-County Councilor. She was appointed to the Indiana State Senate in 2024 following a caucus vote of 30-15.
