Biography
Kyle Koehler is a Republican state senator representing Ohio's 10th Senate District, which includes Clark, Greene, and Clinton Counties. Born on October 5, 1961, in Springfield, he is a lifelong resident of Clark County, married to Kathrin, with five children: Jessica, Julia, Jordan, Jacob, and Joel. Notable achievements include sponsoring reforms to payday lending and occupational licensing during his time in the Ohio House. He currently chairs the Senate Workforce Development Committee, serves as vice chair of the Agriculture & Natural Resources and Sunset Review Committees, and holds positions on the Governor's Executive Workforce Board and the Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Advisory Board.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Springfield Catholic Central in 1980; earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with honors from Wright State University in 1984.
- Professional Background: Worked as a software engineer for PAR Technology and senior software engineer for SofTech , including roles at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base with top-secret clearance; currently vice president of K.K. Tool Co. Inc.
- Political Experience: Served eight years in the Ohio House of Representatives , chairing the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee for four years; elected to his first term in the Ohio Senate in 2022, representing District 10.
