Biography

Senator Kristina Roegner

Kristina D. Roegner is a Republican member of the Ohio State Senate representing District 27, which includes portions of Portage, Summit, and Geauga Counties. She is currently serving her final term in the Senate.

Senator Roegner is from Hudson, Ohio, where she has been deeply involved in community service. She is married to Eric and has three daughters. Before entering electoral politics, she worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, serving global clients on performance and strategic issues. She also had an engineering background, having worked as a field engineer and project manager for Westinghouse Power Generation Service Division, where she led teams of 50-100 people overhaul large turbines and generators at power plants across the country.

She founded Language Lodge, a limited liability company, and continues to serve as an alumni consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Education

Senator Roegner graduated cum laude from Tufts University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. She earned her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance and strategic management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania .

Political Experience

Roegner's public service includes:

  • Hudson City Council : Elected member and part of the Budget Reduction Ad-hoc Committee, which helped reduce Hudson's budgeted city spending by 10%.
  • Ohio House of Representatives : Served four terms representing the 37th House District, which includes Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake, and Stow.
  • Ohio Senate : Serves as Chair of the General Government and Higher Education Committee and Vice Chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee. She is also a member of the Senate Health Committee.

Senator Roegner has earned numerous legislative awards, including the NFIB's Guardian of Small Business Award and the Ohio Society of CPA's Outstanding Legislator Award.
