ABOUT
Kristina Ortez was raised in a military family; her father served over 20 years in the U.S. Army. After graduating high school in El Paso, Texas, Ortez earned an ROTC scholarship to attend Texas A&M University. She served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army for nearly a decade before retiring as a Captain. After leaving the Army, Ortez worked in the private sector as a defense contractor supporting military operations abroad. She also earned her MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to running for Congress, Ortez was an active community volunteer supporting veterans services organizations.read less
