Biography
Kristin Marcell is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 178th District in parts of Bucks County since her first term in 2023. She was elected to her second term for the 2025-26 session. A longtime Bucks County resident, she lives in Wrightstown with her husband and two children. Before entering state politics, Marcell was a communications professional in the energy, environmental, and utility industries for two decades, providing strategic counsel to businesses. She also served on the Council Rock School Board , advocating for students, parental voice in education, and safely reopening schools during the pandemic. Additionally, she served on the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology’s Executive Council. Her entry into public service began in 2014 as a parent advocating to save a local elementary school from closure.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Arts in political science from Penn State University; master’s degree in public policy from George Washington University.
- Early Public Sector Experience: After college, worked at the U.S. Department of Transportation as communications director of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and served in the U.S. Congress, gaining firsthand knowledge of the legislative process.
- Current Positions: For the 2025-26 session, appointed to the House committees on Appropriations, Commerce, Professional Licensure, and Aging and Older Adult Services, focusing on issues like older adults' needs, state finances, local businesses, and workforce preparation.
