Biography
Kristen Thompson is a Republican state senator representing District 22 in the Oklahoma Senate, which covers parts of Oklahoma and Canadian counties. A fourth-generation Oklahoman from Fort Gibson, she was elected in 2022 after winning the Republican primary against incumbent Jake A. Merrick and the general election against Democrat Blake Aguirre with 60% of the vote; she assumed office on November 16, 2022. Hometown: Edmond, Oklahoma. She owns multiple businesses in construction and hospitality with her husband Bryce, creating over 200 jobs in the Oklahoma City metro area. Notable achievements include securing $22.6 million for Piedmont’s water infrastructure upgrades, streamlining the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, and earning recognition from the State Chamber, District Attorneys Association, and The Journal Record's Power List. She serves on committees including Appropriations, Natural Resources and Regulatory Services, Energy, Health and Human Services, Rules, and chairs Economic Development, Workforce and Tourism. Community service includes volunteering in schools, Visit Edmond Tourism board , and Tri Delta Children’s Foundation for pediatric cancer support.
