Biography
Kristen Cloutier is a Democratic politician from Lewiston, Maine, who served as state representative for House District 94 from 2018 to 2025. She was Assistant House Majority Leader during her third term, chairwoman of the Taxation Committee, and served on the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee. Notable achievements include cosponsoring Maine's Paid Family Medical Leave program , creating a family caregiver grant program, streamlining business licensing for new residents, allocating $10 million for homelessness aid, improving lead paint hazard reporting, and restoring Tobacco Prevention funding. She resigned on October 31, 2025, to become chief of staff to Senate President Mattie Daughtry. Awards include Emerge Maine's 2017 Rising Star Award, National Foundation of Women Legislators' Woman of Excellence, YWCA's 2019 Lee Young Leadership Award, and the 2022 Henry Toll Fellowship. She serves on the Community Concepts and Lewiston-Auburn Railroad boards.
