Biography
Kris Schultz is a Democratic New Hampshire State Representative currently serving Merrimack District 29. A longtime resident of Concord's Ward 9 since 2008, she lives with her husband Gene Taylor and their dog Lou Brandeis. Schultz has over 30 years as a community organizer and activist focused on social justice, economic justice, and democratic values, including volunteering for new Americans, homeless individuals, and low-income families. She has built ties with New Hampshire faith communities, serving as President of the Greater Concord Interfaith Council , and worked as a political campaign consultant for candidates from mayor to president, advising groups like AARP, AFL-CIO, Americans for Healthcare, and Reform Immigration for America.
Notable positions include state representative since 2017 and 16 years as a Ward 9 Supervisor of the Checklist, registering voters on election days. Her legislative record features votes to legalize marijuana, raise the minimum wage to $12 by 2023, report certain mental health records to federal firearm background checks, and oppose expansions of Education Freedom Accounts.
