Biography
Kiyan Michael is a Republican representing Florida House District 16, which encompasses the beaches of Jacksonville, Neptune, Atlantic Beach, and parts of East Arlington. Born on September 20 in Jacksonville, Florida, she was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives on November 8, 2022, and reelected subsequently. She resides in Jacksonville with her husband, Bobby Michael Jr., a 20-year Navy veteran originally from Toledo, Ohio; they have two children. A retired credit manager, Michael is a Christian with recreational interests in gardening, hiking, and reading. Notable achievements include serving on the Jacksonville Waterways Commission as part of the Duval Delegation, appointment to the Florida Museum of Black History Task Force by the House Speaker, and being a featured guest at Governor DeSantis's 2019 State of the State Address and Black History Celebration. She previously served on the Black Voices for Trump Advisory Board and has provided commentary on immigration policy for Fox News.
