About
Kimberly Rainwater New is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives representing District 40. A seventh-generation Douglas County resident born in Douglasville, she was raised in Paulding County and comes from a family with deep community roots—her great-grandfather built the old courthouse, her grandfather was a Baptist preacher who helped establish churches, and her father was a local business owner. She and her husband Billy have operated a business in Douglas County for over 20 years, giving her firsthand experience with regulatory challenges for small businesses; she previously served as President and Board Member of the Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association.
New is also a past President of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha – Georgia State Council, where she raised funds for community causes and was named Woman of the Year. As a conservative committed to her district, she has championed policies requiring sheriffs to report illegal aliens in jail to ICE, delivering $5 billion in tax relief, increasing the child tax deduction by $1,000 and doubling the homestead tax exemption, providing $138.8 million in school security grants, raising teacher pay, passing education freedom legislation, fully funding public schools, and giving raises to state law enforcement.
