Biography
Kimberly L. Edwards is a Democratic State Representative in the Michigan House of Representatives, serving the 12th District since 2023. This district covers Northeast Detroit, Eastpointe, and St. Clair Shores, representing about 89,618 constituents. Born and raised on Detroit's west side, she has lived in Eastpointe for over a decade and works as a social worker and mother of four. Her priorities include defending reproductive freedom, protecting the environment, and ensuring quality education for Michigan students. She was elected in 2022, endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters, and won reelection in 2024. Notable positions include Minority Vice Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Services and member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Local Transportation.
