Biography
Kimberly Neely du Buclet is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives representing District 5, which covers portions of Chicago's South Side neighborhoods including Woodlawn, Washington Park, South Shore, and Englewood, as well as parts of The Loop, South Loop, and River North. She was appointed to the seat on May 13, 2023, following Lamont Robinson's resignation to become a Chicago alderman, and successfully won re-election to a full term in 2024, defeating her primary opponent 75.7% to 24.3% with endorsements from groups like the Chicago Teachers Union, AFSCME Council 31, Chicago Tribune editorial board, Planned Parenthood Illinois Action, Equality Illinois, and Giffords. Prior to this, she served on the Board of Commissioners for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, where she was elected vice-president on January 5, 2023, after winning re-election in 2020 with the most votes.
