Biography
Kimberly A. Alexander is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 66 since her election in 2012. A native of Paulding County, she grew up in Hiram, Georgia, attended Paulding County Schools, and now resides in Douglas County as the eighth of 11 children. She made history as the first African-American female to run for office on the Hiram City Council, the first female Douglas County resident elected to the State House, and the first African-American female elected in Paulding County.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Morris Brown College; Master's degree in Administration from Central Michigan University; certified as a business manager and risk management assurance professional.
- Professional Background: Over 16 years as a community advocate; worked in internal controls, auditing, and finance, including roles as Internal Auditor at Coca-Cola , Senior Auditor at Citizen Trust Bank , and Senior Auditor at Atlanta Life Financial Group .
- Political Experience: Elected in 2012 by defeating Republican Bob Snelling; re-elected in subsequent cycles including 2022 and 2024. Served as Deputy Minority Whip , Minority Caucus Treasurer , Secretary for the Douglas County Delegation, member of the Paulding Delegation, Treasurer for the Women's Caucus, and Founder/Officer of the Voting Rights Caucus . Parliamentarian for the bipartisan House Women’s Caucus.

- Notable Achievements: Sponsored the Tax Accountability Act, Child Safety legislation, HR 1093 , HB 824 , and co-sponsored HB 669 . Received the 2015 Award of Excellence for Service, Commitment, Inspiration, and Dedication. Key coordinator in efforts to protect teens from unfair statutory rape laws.
