Biography

Kim Joy Schofield is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 63 in Fulton County, which includes portions of Atlanta, East Point, College Park, Hapeville, South Fulton, Forest Park, and Union City. Elected in 2017, she serves as Secretary of the Urban Affairs Committee and is a member of the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Health, Industry and Labor, and Small Business Development committees. Notable achievements include advocating for Medicaid expansion, homestead exemptions for seniors, workplace and pay equity, environmental justice, and lupus awareness; she chaired the Georgia Council on Lupus Education and Awareness , held a federal Health IT Policy Committee appointment, and introduced 2019 legislation for physician grants in underserved areas.
