Biography
Kilton M. Webb is a Democratic state representative for Maine House District 98, which includes parts or all of Bowdoin, Durham, Lisbon, Pownal, and Topsham in Androscoggin County. Residing in Durham, he was elected in November 2024 by a narrow margin of 55 votes over Republican Guy Lebida, defeating a perennial candidate who had won the primary against the previous incumbent. An electrician by trade, Webb is actively involved in organized labor as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 567, where he works as an organizer and membership development director. Notable achievements include serving as apprentice representative on his local union’s executive board, founding its Young Worker Committee, and currently holding the position of Vice President of the Western Maine Labor Council. In the legislature, he serves on the Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, addressing issues like energy policy, utilities, telecommunications, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Education and Political Experience
Webb completed an apprenticeship program to become a licensed electrician following his high school graduation. His political experience began with union leadership roles, including two years as apprentice representative and initiatives to support young workers. This is his first term in the Maine House of Representatives, starting in 2024, where he represents constituent interests, votes on legislation, and advocates for community needs in District 98.
