Biography
Kevin West is a Republican representative for Oklahoma House District 54, which includes parts of Cleveland County, Moore, and Oklahoma City . Born in Oklahoma City and raised in South Oklahoma City, he graduated from Douglass High School. He has served in the Oklahoma House since January 9, 2017, after winning election in November 2016, defeating incumbent Paul Wesselhoft, and has been re-elected unopposed in 2020, 2022, and 2024. A businessman with experience in cabinetry and construction, he owned Sooner Fixtures , worked as Project Manager at Wood Systems , and currently manages Precision Casework . Married to his high school sweetheart Goldie for nearly 40 years, they have two adult children and four grandchildren, and are active members of Regency Park Baptist Church in Moore, volunteering with the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief Team. Notable achievements include serving as Vice Chair of the House Rules Committee in 2017, Chair of the House General Government Committee, and currently as Assistant Majority Floor Leader , Oversight Committee Chair, and Conference Committee on Government Oversight Chair. He has authored or co-authored bills like HB 2186 and HB 3694 . Priority issues: defending state sovereignty, reducing taxes, and protecting Second Amendment rights.
