Kevin Van Winkle is a Republican politician and small business owner from Highlands Ranch in Douglas County, Colorado. Born and raised in Douglas County, he attended local schools, including Highlands Ranch High School, started his business there, married, and raised two young children . He currently represents Douglas County Commissioner District III, having been elected in November 2024 and beginning his first full term on January 14, 2025, after filling a vacancy on December 17, 2024.

Notable achievements and positions include being named Colorado’s Most Conservative Senator by Liberty Scorecard, a Taxpayer Guardian by the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, and Conservative Champion of 2023 by the Colorado Republican Party. He earned “A” ratings from Principles of Liberty Colorado and the National Rifle Association, and recognition as an effective conservative legislator by the Denver Post and Colorado Peak Politics. Van Winkle serves on Colorado Counties, Inc. steering committees for Taxation and Finance, Tourism and Economic Development, and Transportation & Telecommunications.
