Senator Kevin Sparks represents Texas Senate District 31, which spans the Texas Panhandle and Permian Basin, including areas like Midland and counties such as Potter, Randall, and Armstrong. Born on May 10, 1964, he is a conservative businessman and community leader from Midland, Texas, serving as president of Discovery Operating, Inc., a family-owned oil and gas company. Elected in 2022 and taking office in 2023, he won the Republican primary with over 50% of the vote and faced no general election opponent after incumbent Kel Seliger retired.
