Biography
Kevin Petersen is a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly representing District 57. Born on December 14, 1964, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, he is married with two children and resides in Waupaca. A Persian Gulf War veteran, he co-owns a family-run electronics corporation and is active in veterans' organizations including VFW Post 1037 , AMVETS Post 1887 , and American Legion Post 161. Notable achievements include his military service in the U.S. Navy submarine service and U.S. Naval Reserve , local service as Town of Dayton supervisor , and leadership roles such as Speaker Pro Tempore and Assistant Majority Leader .
Education and Political Experience
Education: Graduated from Waupaca High School ; Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering , University of New Mexico .
Political Experience: Elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2006 initially representing District 40; transitioned to District 57 in 2025 . Previously served as Town of Dayton supervisor. Current committee roles include vice chair of Administrative Rules, and member of Assembly Organization, Energy and Utilities, Rules, Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules, and Joint Committee on Legislative Organization.
