Biography
Kevin D. Jensen is a Republican state senator representing District 16 in South Dakota, covering Lincoln and Union counties. Born on August 18, 1954, in Canton, South Dakota, he resides there and owns Quik Response Training, serving as a certified firearms and concealed carry instructor by the state of South Dakota and NRA. Previously, he was a corporate IT director for a pharmaceutical wholesale company managing data divisions across five states, owner of IT consulting firm Innovative Systems, former law enforcement officer in Lincoln County, and a monthly contributor to Outdoorsmen Magazine for over eight years. Notable community involvement includes 15 years on the Canton School Board, 4-H leadership and shooting sports instruction, coaching youth sports, music and worship leadership with an M.Div. from SF Seminary, deacon in churches, and 25 years volunteering in substance abuse prevention, including state field representative for the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. He previously served in the South Dakota House of Representatives for eight years as Majority Whip before moving to the Senate due to term limits.
